I love Thai food, when growing up in California there were so many excellent Thai restaurants. Since moving to the Caribbean a funny thing happened it is common to find many Asian restaurants are combined under one roof. In St. Thomas there is China King. They serve Sushi / Japanese, Chinese and Thai Cuisine. At first I will admit I was skeptical but China King sorta grew on me. Now living in Puerto Rico no such luck. On the East side of the Island we have Sushi or Chinese…but no Thai. I was inspired to create these patties using ground turkey meat and the hankering for some Thai food. I will promise you this will become a family favorite even a common add on to your cooking routine.
Thai Sesame Patties Recipe
This appetizer, although small and deceiving, carries a very strong Asian flavor profile. It has the ground turkey that we have marinated in fresh ginger, garlic, green onions, cilantro, red pepper flakes, ponzu, sesame seeds both black and white, along with seasonings. Eggs are used to bind these patties. They are then fried in a combo of coconut and sesame oils. This process just enhances the delicate patties with phenomenal flavors. This is then paired with a Thai sweet chili sauce for dipping. All together this appetizer is very pleasing. Enjoy!

- After an our, you will want to remove your patties from the fridge. Place a large skillet on the stove and combine both oils into the skillet.
- Place your patties in the skillet and do not over crowd. (you want these to turn golden brown before you flip. If they are too close together it steams them and makes it hard to flip.)

- Get a new parchment on your baking sheet.
- Once the Thai Sesame Patties are done. Remove from the skillet and place on the baking sheet.
- When all you patties are done. Take your patties and place on the plate. Then go ahead and garnish with sesame seeds, green onions, and Cilantro leaves.
