Spicy Margarita
I grow my own Puerto Rican Chili Peppers and I love that overnight my plant produces so many peppers that I don’t even know what to do with them all. I have already used them to make Salsa and used them in my Mexican Food. However, I was thinking what else can I create. I like to think outside the box…As I am sure you’ve noticed. That is when it hit me. I could do a Margarita and spice the rim…wait, what if I spiced the entire Margarita including the rim. Ok, I think I may be on to something. I will let you be the judge. Speaking of, if you “want” a mocktail, omit the tequila…It’s ok I won’t judge or will I???
- 2 ounces of tequila
- 1 ½ limes (Juiced)
- 1.5 oz. orange juice
- 2-3 Puerto Rican peppers (sliced)
- 1 teaspoon of jalapeno juice
- 1 teaspoon of jalapeno simple syrup (Click here for our Recipe)
- Honey Alepo for the Rim (or Brown sugar and cayenne pepper)
- Ice (We made ice out of Lemonade)
Gather your ingredients
Combine the lime juice, orange juice, jalapeno juice, jalapeno simple syrup, tequila and ice in a blender
Blend on high until ingredients are well combined and slightly sticking to the edge.
Rim your glass by running the lime wedge around the rim and then dipping the rim into your spice.
Now pour your margarita into your glass, garnish with pepper and lime and enjoy!
