Spicy Margarita

I grow my own Puerto Rican Chili Peppers and I love that overnight my plant produces so many peppers that I don’t even know what to do with them all. I have already used them to make Salsa and used them in my Mexican Food. However, I was thinking what else can I create. I like to think outside the box…As I am sure you’ve noticed. That is when it hit me. I could do a Margarita and spice the rim…wait, what if I spiced the entire Margarita including the rim. Ok, I think I may be on to something. I will let you be the judge. Speaking of, if you “want” a mocktail, omit the tequila…It’s ok I won’t judge or will I???

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces of tequila
  • 1 ½ limes (Juiced)
  • 1.5 oz. orange juice
  • 2-3 Puerto Rican peppers (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon of jalapeno juice
  • 1 teaspoon of jalapeno simple syrup (Click here for our Recipe)
  • Honey Alepo for the Rim (or Brown sugar and cayenne pepper)
  • Ice (We made ice out of Lemonade)

Instructions
 

  • Gather your ingredients
  • Combine the lime juice, orange juice, jalapeno juice, jalapeno simple syrup, tequila and ice in a blender
  • Blend on high until ingredients are well combined and slightly sticking to the edge.
  • Rim your glass by running the lime wedge around the rim and then dipping the rim into your spice.
  • Now pour your margarita into your glass, garnish with pepper and lime and enjoy!
