About Us
My name is Ryan and *Spoiler Alert* this blog is not about me. Although I may come up from time to time. This blog is about my amazing, talented….sometimes a bit crazy wife Lisa. I first met her in San Diego. She loved to cook and it didn’t matter what. You could literally give her any set of ingredients and she could put something amazing together. She just had a natural talent for all things savory. Mixed that in with her travels around the world and her Puerto Rican culture, she could come up with a dish for any occasion. Right around the time I was getting out of the military. We both decided to go back to school. I went and earned my degree in Audio Engineering and she went to learn the Baking and Pastry side of the culinary world. She was already great with all things savory. I just didn’t realize how talented at the time. While she was earning her degree, There were a few basic savory classes she had to attend. On several occasions, she made one of her own dishes and the Instructors/Chefs LOVED them. Even asked her for some of the recipes. It was here I realized she wasn’t a cook but actually a skilled chef both in Savory and Pastry. However, Our adventure didn’t truly began until we decided to sell everything we owned and moved out to the Caribbean. Talk about a culture shock. Going from fast paced city life to island time was a major adjustment for us….Well for me. I believe she was fine with it. After awhile the Islands felt like home. She is a stay at home wife, cooking for me and the pups…Yes pups. We have four Yorkies that eat better than most people and I do live events for Corporate retreats, Weddings and anything else that needs Audio/Visual. After putting our heads together and trying to figure out a way for us to combine each of our passions. We came up with The Pink Papaya. We hope you enjoy and let us know what you think.
